Annabel read music at Christ’s College, Cambridge, with an instrumental award on the cello. She continued her studies in Cambridge with an MPhil and PhD on eighteenth-century opera.

Annabel began composing in more recent years, mainly writing choral music. Alongside regular Evensong appearances at Christ’s, her music has been performed in the UK and overseas (by choirs including Exeter and Ely Cathedrals, The Chapel Royal, Bath Abbey, York Minster, King’s Voices and the BBC Singers), and broadcast on Radio 3.

Christ’s choir has recorded two CDs of Annabel’s choral music with Regent Records: As a seed bursts forth (2019) and Like to a flower (2023). Some of her music has been published by Selah and Oxford University Press, notably in the ‘Breath of Song’ anthology.

Annabel was a cellist in the National Youth Orchestra. She now teaches cello and piano, and plays with local chamber ensembles in Devon.
